Post Clinical Study 2.0
We're doing another round of our study. It turns out the first round was a pilot. We need more participants. More details below in a letter from Neil Krulewitz.

Are you interested in improving your endurance, power, and VO2max on your bicycle for this upcoming cycling season? Want to increase your core strength? In conjunction with Josh Friedman, professional cycling coach, Dr. Craig Abrams D.C., and the University of New England's College of Osteopathic Medicine, we have developed a promising protocol that has been shown in a preliminary study to increase power, VO2max, and core strength in participating cyclists.

Our 8-week protocol involves targeted, incremental VO2max and core strength training that have produced quantifiable results. Reports from previous study participants have been very positive, and include both objective and subjective increases in cycling performance. The study will include three groups of participants: VO2max training only, Core training only, and combined VO2max and core training. We will be measuring power, heart rate, and calculated VO2max from power data. NOTE: we will not be performing in-lab VO2max testing - VO2max calculation from power data has been shown to be extremely accurate.

All data and participant information will remain confidential and be used only in comparing groups. Additionally, participants will receive information regarding the performances of each group to guide your future training.

To be eligible to participate, you must fit the following criteria:

Be a licensed Cat 4 or higher cyclist
Currently do not perform regular core strengthening exercise
Own or have regular access to a power meter
Own or have regular access to a heart rate monitor
Own or have regular access to a cycling computer (Garmin, etc.)
You may need to purchase additional core equipment (foam roller, exercise ball) - details will be provided

The study will take place in the Spring of 2015, likely in early or mid-April. If you are interested in participating, please contact us at nkrulewitz@gmail.com, cragabramsdc@gmail.com, or atpraceconsulting@gmail.com. We look forward to hearing from you.

Best,

Neil Krulewitz
Medical Student, University of New England
