Routes

Slow Ride
(<15mph)

This is a "no-drop" ride, where our ride leader(s) and group will cater to the needs of all riders, leaving nobody behind, riding a shorter route than others. The ride leader will adjust the route as needed based on the capabilities of the group. If you are new to bikes, this is absolutely the group for you. If you are new to riding in a group, this is also a good place to start.

Medium Ride
(15-18mph)

This is a “no-drop” ride on our medium or long route.  We expect participants in this group to have some experience on a bicycle. This is a great place to get comfortable riding in a pack. This ride will feature the most ride leaders, and may break into smaller groups based on skills and fitness levels as needed. GLV ride leaders will maintain the pace at the front of this ride at all times.

Medium-Fast Ride
(18-22mph)

This will be an up-tempo “semi-drop” group ride on our medium or long route. The goal of this group will be to maintain a steady paceline without surging or splits. After major hills, we’ll stop to allow the critical mass to regroup, but riders should be comfortable with the route. Our ride leaders will help to set the pace and marshal regroups throughout the ride, but we encourage riders who are comfortable to participate in the paceline by pulling through and keeping a steady pace.

Breakaway Ride
(22+mph)

This will be a “drop” ride on our long route - the ride leaders and rest of the group will not wait for dropped riders. This group does not have a set pace, but riders should remember that this is not a race and are expected to adhere to all the rules of the road. Riders who do not will be asked to not return. The riders in this group are expected to be experienced enough to be able to work together smoothly and safely without instruction.
